UOB personal loan is an unsecured personal loan that requires no guarantor and security. This loan provides from RM 5,000 to a maximum of RM 100,000 financing at a repayment from 1 year to 5 years repayment period. If a borrower is self employed, he or she can only apply for a maximum of RM 50,000 loan. The interest rate starts from 9.99% (flat) p.a. to 11.99% (flat). p.a. The interest you can enjoy would depends very much on your monthly income, credit score and loan tenure. Generally you can enjoy better rates with higher income as you are considered lower risk level. The table below shows the interest rates offered based on monthly income.

At the moment, UOB states that application approval may takes 7 business days. This is rather slow as compared with other personal loans in Malaysia. Upon approval, the financing sum will be transferred to the stated account in the application.

Fees

This loan application also comes without processing fees and hidden charges. There is a RM2.12 (inclusive of GST) Interbank GIRO fees that will be deducted from the loan amount for the disbursement. The loan comes with a standard 0.5% stamp duty as per Stamp Duty Act 1949. As for early settlement, a borrower will need to pay a 3% or RM 300 charge based on the higher amount. A standard 1% p.a applies for any late repayment of the loan.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the loan, you will need to have a minimum monthly income of RM 2,000 for salaried employee or RM 3,000 for self employed. The age limit for this personal loan starts from 21 years old to 55 years at the end of loan tenure.

  • Latest BE form OR Latest 3 months bank statement with credit transaction OR 1 year EPF statement

Self Employed

  • Photocopy of IC (front and back)
  • Photocopy of Company Registration form
  • Most recent 3 months bank statement (with income displayed on statement)
  • Latest BE forms with payment receipts from LHDN
